Ash Lamson is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and editor, recently graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Film and Television Production. Originally from Pennsylvania, Ash developed an early passion for storytelling through film, which naturally led her to post-production and the art of editing.
Ash recently completed post-production on two senior thesis films at LMU, each with distinct genres, tones, and editorial demands, further strengthening her versatility as an editor and visual storyteller. In addition to narrative work, she has freelanced as an editor for independent artists, gaining experience balancing creative vision with efficient, deadline-driven workflows.
As an editor, Ash is particularly drawn to horror and suspense, where pacing, tension, and rhythm are essential to shaping audience experience. She has a sharp eye for performance, emotional nuance, and timing, with a detail-oriented approach that prioritizes both story clarity and cinematic rhythm.
Ash values editing as a deeply collaborative process and enjoys working closely with directors to help refine performances, strengthen narrative structure, and bring creative vision to life in the edit. She is known for her organization, communication, and adaptability, and approaches each project as an opportunity to build strong creative partnerships while elevating the story.
Her technical experience includes proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, and Adobe After Effects.
Beyond film, Ash has a strong appreciation for poetry and is interested in the relationship between cinematic and poetic language. Her studies have taken her abroad to Italy, where she explored global cinema, and to Germany, where she immersed herself in documentary filmmaking.
Ash aspires to build a career editing television while remaining open to projects across genres and formats that challenge her creatively and expand her storytelling voice.
